The Grammar Doctors is a boutique firm that partners with clients to create and edit marketing materials for businesses and individuals. Started by Amanda Collins in 2006 and based in Phoenix, Arizona, The Grammar Doctors works with clients around the globe to present them in the best possible light to prospective clients and employers.

Amanda has been playing with words and grammar since she was a child. She began writing résumés professionally in 1996 while also working in higher education marketing, creating effective marketing copy as well as proofreading and editing colleagues’ work. She is an educator at heart and enjoys empowering clients through building long-term, professional relationships.

A marketing maven, Amanda has a thematic approach to her business, appearing at networking events in a costume of scrubs, lab coat, and stethoscope, and meets clients with a first aid kit full of correction needs. She always carries her prescription pad with her for any spelling and grammar emergencies.

Amanda stays current with marketing and résumé trends through strategic partnerships with business developers and coaches, graphic designers, and HR and staffing professionals, and as Vice President of the Résumé Writers’ Council of Arizona. Amanda has training as a career counselor and is currently considering pursuing a master’s degree in professional writing.

On a personal note, Amanda is a single mother of Patrick, an energetic four-year-old boy, and Phoenix, an exuberant seven-year-old Chow / Lab mix. When she’s not focused on work, she and the “kids” enjoy hiking and visits to the dog park. When Patrick isn’t around, she makes a mean lemon drop martini and enjoys vegetarian fare such as Thai and Ethiopian (Patrick is addicted to mac and cheese). In her office, you’ll be greeted by her large Wonder Woman collection, so you are forewarned!
