“She was a copy editor, possessed of the rare capacity to sit all day in a small cubicle, like a monk in a cell, and read with an almost penitential rigor.” ~ David Leavitt
The importance of a good first impression
As the adage goes, “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.” Regardless who your audience is, you need to ensure that your presence on paper (the Web, email, etc.) is flawless!
It doesn’t matter what you’re writing; if you’re putting it out to the world, you want it to be perfect, don’t you? How many clients, jobs, or just plain-old “opportunities” are you missing due to poor spelling and grammar? Lack of consistency? We’ll right those wrongs for you!
“Amanda is an exceptionally gifted and intuitive writer who is driven by curiosity and creativity. She invests the time to explore the depths of the given project or subject matter to formulate comprehensive and engaging written solutions.”
- Jason Parker, marketing director in Nashville, TN
A second set of eyes
“How do you spell ‘the’?” Do you ever have days like that, when the words just don’t look right on the screen? How about when you’re writing a blog, article, or even a book and you can’t figure out how to get the paragraphs to flow and make sense?
Anal-retentive is a word often used to describe Amanda Collins of The Grammar Doctors. She finds errors. She improves readability. Some firms either do copy editing OR proofreading—and charge at different levels for each. Not so with The Grammar Doctors! No matter what you’re looking to complete, we can help. Using the Chicago style of editing (or APA for college students; if you need something else, just ask!), we go through your missive two times: once for errors and the second time for content.
Your investment
We will run through your blog, article, Web site, term paper, marketing collateral, or anything else twice for an hourly rate of $39, averaging five pages per hour. There is a minimum $40 charge for the first hour; after that, time is logged in five-minute increments.
